To put that into perspective, the average high temperature in March is usually around 45–48°F. So when we see temperatures 20+ degrees above normal, it’s no surprise that snowpack is melting fast and snow removal services haven’t been as busy as usual.
Across the Tahoe Basin, this warm, dry pattern has led to rapidly diminishing snow levels and even early ski resort closures due to lack of coverage. For those of us in the snow removal business, it’s been a noticeable change of pace.

Local forecasts also suggest that this dry, mild pattern should persist through much of the week, with the possibility of a more unsettled weather system arriving toward the end of March.
In other words, while winter isn’t officially over yet, it’s definitely taking a backseat—for now.
